There are hundreds of campgrounds in the UP. The Upper Peninsula takes up 1/3 of the state of Michigan. What type of campground are you looking for? What are your interest.

Is there a reason you are looking for a private campground?

In the UP there are Private, Public and State campgrounds that maybe what you want to.

Another question - Do you plan to camp in Tents or an RV.

we will be camping middle of august -- we are camping in a travel trailer w/no bathroom - we prefer private over state parks because of the bathroom set up - unless you can recommend state parks which have full bathrooms available - also looking for lakefront sites
