Downtown Gas Station

Hi everyone,

I%26#39;m going to be making a day trip into Downtown Detroit from Ontario. I plan on parking at the Greektown Casino while I walk around downtown and check out the various attractions.

I want to take advantage of the low gas prices so my question is where is a gas station in the downtown area or near the tunnel crossing?

There is a Speedway on the corner of Jefferson at I-375. To avoid extra left turns, gas up as soon as you enter the US. Turn right out of the tunnel onto Jefferson. Stay right on Jefferson at the I-375 split (do not get on freeway). Take the first crossover back over the freeway at the Speedway will be right in front of you.

To get to the casino, turn right out of the gas station onto Jefferson. Turn right on Beaubien and go a few blocks to Lafayette.

That definitely is the closest gas station and really very quick and easy to get to after you exit the tunnel, but (just so that you know) prices won%26#39;t be as low there as at some other stations in the Detroit area. Still will be cheaper than in Ontario, however.
