Good Place to Stay for a Couple without kids

My wife and I would like to spend a weekend in South Haven. We are in our late twenties and will not be traveling with children. Unfortunatley, we%26#39;re not big B%26amp;B people and prefer instead boutique hotels or inns. Can anyone recommend a good place to stay? We have looked on all of the websites and are really having trouble finding a spot for a couple that is not a B%26amp;B. If possible, we would like to stay somewhere we can walk downtown and don%26#39;t have to drive.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hmmmm. Look at Hotel Nichols, Mich Mona Mac and Old Harbor Inn. MMM is on the north side (farther walk) but gives you your own digs and on the beach. Lots of condos but sounds like that%26#39;s not your style.

i usually travel without kids--boutique hotel within walking distance of everything--not really anything like that in so haven...old harbor is where I stay off season (the rates are pretty much worth what you get then)...i always hesitate to recommend it because the service is SO hit %26amp; miss...but they are remodeling and re doing some of the rooms...and they are cute and quaint...the street side rooms in the little ';village'; to the east of the hotel have a ';peek'; at the harbor without the cost...some are great, some aren%26#39;t...i%26#39;d ask which had been remodeled!! Hotel Nichols is run by the nicest folks but it is an older historic type of place so you have to like that type of thing..it%26#39;s right downtown also and includes a European style breakfast. Out by the highway (so you would have to drive) is in my opinion the nicest hotel the Hampton Inn....you could drive then into one of the beaches (Id chose Packard Park myself) pay the 5 bucks to park and just stay all day...wander the town and go back to the beach...theres a fun outdoor bar on the walk from the park on the way to town called Capt Lous...and North Shore Memories is a great place to get lunch and take back to the park.

Now Yelton Manor IS a b %26amp; B but their Manor House is more like staying in a boutique hotel...no b %26amp; b ish mingling or communal breakfast...and its gorgeously appointed and right across the street from the beach and park I mention and a short walk into town...that might be another option for you. Good luck.
