Dinner on Graduation Weekend

We%26#39;ll be a party of 6 in Ann Arbor for our daughter%26#39;s graduation on May 2. There are so many restaurants in town! Got any dinner recommendations for us? We like American, Italian, Irish, Chinese, steak, seafood, pizza; we%26#39;re not too hard to please. I know Ann Arbor will be very crowded that weekend.

Thanks!

You may have a hard time with reservations at this point since it%26#39;s only a couple weeks away, but what did you want to spend per person (excluding alcohol) for this meal?

If you like seafood I would suggest the Gandy Dancer, its one of my favorite places to eat in Ann Arbor. See the website, you can check out the menu and even make reservations online.

Thank you, gobluegirl!

To jenifera2, we thought up to $20 per person, excluding alcohol. Does that sound reasonable to you? I know it%26#39;s more expensive there than where we live.

It%26#39;s been a while since I went to Gandy Dancer, but I%26#39;m not sure you can eat there for that amount. Their online menu, unfortunately, does not show prices. It%26#39;s a popular graduation dinner spot, though, so you could call and ask about pricing and whether they have anything left for that night.

If you don%26#39;t go there, I%26#39;d recommend doing something downtown for the best overall atmosphere. Some places to check out, some fancier, some more casual, but you can see photos and menus on their websites for the most part:

Palio (Italian)

Real Seafood

Melange

Rush Street Tavern

Prickly Pear (southwest)

Grizzly Peak (somewhat upscale brewpub)

Red Hawk

Blue Nile (Ethiopian)

Amadeus (central European)

Vinology

Other options that I%26#39;m guessing are out of your price range (and may be booked up for that evening) but that you might want to check out just in case:

Logan

The Earle

West End Grille

Gratzi

Black Pearl

Eve

There are probably more great choices, but I%26#39;m drawing a blank.

I%26#39;m a huge fan of Amadaeus as well! The previous poster made a good point about the Gandy being possibly crowded. Amadaeus is very cute and has a great menu. Check it out.

Thanks very much!

I%26#39;ll check out these restaurants online, and print out all your information to bring along with us. With so many restaurants in town, I really appreciate knowing which ones are recommended by their patrons.

Another option that is not located downtown but offers excellent food, friendly service and a fun atmosphere is Zingerman%26#39;s Roadhouse. I don%26#39;t know whether or not they accept reservations so you may need to give them a call. Moms
