Everything Saugatuck- hotels, restaurants, bars, shops, etc

Hi. I%26#39;m planning a trip in late June with 2 couples. We would each like to have our rooms at the same place but wouldn%26#39;t mind sharing a larger place that sleeps 4. Downtown area sounds like where we want to be. Any restaurants you could recommend. Love breakfast %26amp; dinner but don%26#39;t mind skipping lunch. We do have 1 night that we%26#39;d like to have a really nice/special dinner. Any good boat rentals you can recommend would be great. Is Douglas beach or Oval beach better? Also, any other points of interest you can think of would be appreciated. Thanks!

You have a wide range of downtown lodging choices from B%26amp;Bs and motels to vacation rentals. Go to saugatuckdouglas.com for a complete list.

IMO Oval beach is the better choice, plenty of parking, bathroom/concessions and a beautiful setting...don%26#39;t forget to explore Saugatuck Dunes State Park for great hiking.

Ida Reds for breakfast...great dinner choices in Saugatuck/Douglas include Phil%26#39;s, Everyday People, Wild Dog and Clearbrook.

Don%26#39;t miss the Star of Saugatuck sunset cruise or the Dune Rides.

I agree with LakeEffect. For more vacation rentals (houses and condos) you can also check vrbo, homeaway, and lakeshorelodging.com.

The dune rides are great; another boat tour option is The Harbor Duck. Boat rentals: Coral Gables maybe? And Big Lake Outfitters...I think there are others. They%26#39;d be listed on saugatuck.com or saugatuckdouglas.com.

There%26#39;s a new restaurant in Saugatuck, Hercules Hot Dogs, that%26#39;s getting good early reviews. No alcohol, but breakfast/lunch/dinner: Greek salads, gyros, chili, hot dogs. Reasonable prices and a back garden (I haven%26#39;t eaten there but have looked in the windows and seen the menu).

For a really great/special dinner I%26#39;d go with Everyday People in Douglas.

Have fun!
