What are the good restaurants? Bar/Pubs? Beaches.
Thanks for any advice.
Heading to Grand Haven at the end of July....
Well for one, you need to grab a Pronto pup or two on the boardwalk. : )
You can get to the beach by walking the boardwalk along the Grand River from downtown Grand Haven.
As far as place to eat, what%26#39;s your pleasure?
Personally, I like Culver%26#39;s.
Btw, great bike paths in Grand Haven/Spring Lake if that kind of thing interests you.
Heading to Grand Haven at the end of July....
looking for good family style restaurants (non-chain preference) as we will be traveling with 2 small kids.
also looking for tips on pubs for an evening drink or two. any beach bars in the area?
glad to hear you can walk along the boardwalk to the beach from downtown...we%26#39;ll be staying in Spring Lake by the marina..
thanks for the input.
I wish I could help you more, since I%26#39;m a western Michigander transplanted to the Indianapolis area eight years ago. I just haven%26#39;t spent much time in Grand Haven, though. The only thing I remember about Grand Haven is the Musical Fountain. It%26#39;s a nightly fountain and light display synchronized to music. Google it and see if it interests you. Hope you enjoy your trip to Michigan!
Russ%26#39; would be another suggestion for a family meal.
Also there are a few bars in downtown Grand Haven.

Fyi, you can walk the bike path by your hotel to downtown Grand Haven via the bike path.
It is about 1.5 miles.
Don%26#39;t have to drink and drive then. : )
We go every summer and rent a house on the lake. As a family, we enjoy Old Boys Brewhouse in Spring Lake (fun, lively atmosphere, huge outdoor waterfront deck at the marina, kid friendly), also snug harbor on the water in Grand Haven. Tip a Few bar is a hole in the wall with amazing mexican (leave the kids at home for this night).
Thee beach would be at the state park. Large parking lot, concessions in season, $7 entry fee to get in, unless you have a annual state park sticker, which I am assuming you won%26#39;t have since you are from Indy, I assume! Lots of kite flying going on here to watch, if the wind is up. You can walk that boardwalk, or if at the beach, walk out to the lighthouse. Be sure and watch your small children closely though in the water, there is a undertow, and if there are flags flying or warnings, well, I wouldn%26#39;t take them in the water. Have fun. Lovely little town.
