hey rono--whats going on down at the beach??

just wondering...big pipe thing running from the river over the pier and snaking out onto the beach....the lake looked kinda weird too....noticed something that looked like a dredging vessel further up the river also...

I hadn%26#39;t heard they were doing it but that is dredging equipment as you thought. Looks like they%26#39;re working from the bridge out. Sand bars build in the river and they pump this sand down the beach where sand is needed. The construction near the south beach is the new water plant going up. BTW Water street is oneway, westbound, from St Joseph to the beach. The only way out is Erie St. (sorry for taking so long, I was away.)

Nope, they have moved the ramps etc up river to the city boat ramp area. I saw kids skating there last fall.

FYI, the skate park is history for now. They have packed up the ramps and stored them away. It%26#39;s future is in the hands of the powers that be in City Hall.

I just read about that. They claimed something about the state only giving them permission for the 2008 season and apparently there have been complaints of vandalism. Sounds like bunk to me. I thought that was a good fix down there.
