South Haven Cottages

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone stayed at Auntie Pat%26#39;s Cottages at 140 Webster? The back cottage is what%26#39;s available. We%26#39;re told there is beach access to Neucomb beach. What%26#39;s that beach like? Any other comments about the part of town or access to other services/ activities with a preschooler?

Not familiar with either. I can say in that neighborhood the beach is the end of a street. Not wide, and most likely the neighbors aren%26#39;t friendly. I think it%26#39;d be just south of Sleepy Holly. I%26#39;ll google 140 webster.

i%26#39;ve thought about those several times but never stayed...they look adorable and are very reasonable...and a beach is a beach in my estimation...you may wind up driving to town or just taking a nice long walk...can%26#39;t go wrong in my estimation although the two cottages are very close...as long as the neighbors are nice you%26#39;ll be fine!!

I should clarify as I didn’t intend to put a negative spin on the neighborhood. Several years ago there was an argument over whether there should be public access there. The neighbors (and they recruited many vocal people from around town) argued that access should be denied as it was a detriment to their property because the public encroached on their property when visiting. The city prevailed and declared that it was public property therefore public access and rightfully so. You can imagine there were hard feelings, maybe cooler heads prevail now or maybe the properties have changed hands. Be aware of private property, but remember the wet sand along the shore is not private and you can walk for miles if you like.
